This is a full-bodied red wine with the character of the Douro. It has the aroma of blackberry, hints of liquorice, spices, violets, bergamont and rock rose, balanced with very elegant notes from barrel ageing. It is complex and elegant, with very ripe, smooth and firm tannins which makes this wine long and full in the mouth with fruity palate. It promises excellent ageing in the bottle. Great with game, all red meat and heavier dishes. 2011 has become one of the best vintages in the Douro Valley
