Sorry for delay, to busy enjoying the summer, which is now in full swing, ran, Cloudy skies and cool weather a typical melange of climates.
Wineries around the word are suffering and none more than the ones in Portugal, some Quintas are more than 65% down over last year as Restaurants Hotels and catering establishments have been slow to reopen with a 2 meter distancing rule in place in Portugal , and masks to be worn.
Also remembering their biggest exports are to China and Brazil which have been hit hard by Covid.
That said its all about looking forward and all bad things will come to an end! Hospitality will get back to some normality all over the world, the wine industry in Portugal with the help of great customers will rise again, its always harder for smaller exporting wine countries as they are sometimes in the shadows of the large power houses of Spain and France in quantity but not necessarily in quality.
So the message as always is drink more Portuguese Wines as one of the most diverse wine countries in the world.
